ABOUT US
Founded in 2005 by artists John Butler and Danielle Caruana, The Seed Fund is a philanthropic, not-for-profit, and privately owned Australian organisation.Artist-directed and artist-led, we are committed to placing artists and managers at the centre of the contemporary music landscape.
Since inception, we have raised and distributed over $1.8 million to the artistic community through the contributions of artists, associates, and champions.
Overseen by our managing director, Stacia Goninon, and with a legacy of more than 19 years, we have become a cornerstone of the Australian music industry—empowering artists and managers through funding opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives.
From the very beginning, we have taken an agile approach, championing the vital impact that artists have on our cultural fabric.
We have supported projects across visual arts, professional development, touring, recording, marketing and publicity, social activism, multicultural arts, and career-defining initiatives.
Through partnerships with organisations such as Skinnyfish, Music NT, and APRA AMCOS, we have delivered programs into remote communities, celebrating the excellence of Indigenous artists.
At the heart of our work is the transformative Management Workshop Program.
